B. is for Bloom...

{Shopping at the Flea Market}

{Sunday Date Night}
 So after promises of b.duncan's summer filled garden parties for VintageTeal, I found myself craving more than just the usual floral pattern this weekend.  For some reason, I can't imagine welcoming spring any other way than slapping a big faux flower on myself.  Though I have always had one or two of these pretties lying around, my new favorite is the baby blue bloom pictured above from {EmersonMade}.  Love this "beautiful blue wild rose" so much I picked up "the poppy" this weekend.  Not sure how to wear these girls, the EmersonMade site is filled with ideas, and you will see the lovelies come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.  See you here tomorrow for a serious 30x30 remix tell all.

Get to the garden...

Life's a garden... Dig it!-- Joe Dirt

Flash floods/tornadoes anyone? Geez Nashville......we can't catch a break here!... Been daydreaming all day about having a garden dinner party. Thinking about the menu, the guest list, the location and most importantly... {well maybe not... but an important part none-the-less}... the tablescape! There is nothing more relaxing then dining al fresco with good company, good food and good wine. Dinner parties are a large part of vT's social calendar when the sun starts shining.

So Earthy
A luxurious table is simple to create. Find elements you want to include. Flowers, plants, cloth, candles, pretty china and whatever else suits your fancy and start placing. We are a big fan of burlap, soft flowers and candles.  There is something so pretty about soft flowers and low light on a rough texture such as burlap. Entertaining can be daunting, we know, but you can fearlessly invite guests over when you have a layout such as some of these! Don't worry if you can't cook, feel free to cater and sip on some cocktails while guests compliment your "hostess with the mostess" work! We will make it a personal goal to try and recreate each and every one of these this spring and summer...

Okay.. love this... might be a little uncomfortable, but "hay!"

Simple and Elegant

Perfect dinner party spot.

Yay for the weekend and the flea market! Can't wait to see all the deals! *vT

{Dotted Up}

{Pretty Dots from a Blogger's Flea Market Trip}
 Aahhhh Thursday.  J. Reasons writing to you with a smile because Thursday in my opinion is the best day.  My sweet husband comes home from his weekly travel on Thursdays, I have the anticipation of the weekend building up, but the weekend has not started yet, so no feelings of saddnes that Monday is approaching yet again too quickly.  This weekend is also extra special as I am also anxiously awaiting one of my favorite events....The Flea Market!  I would tell you that Mr. Reasons is anxiously awaiting his favorite past time as well, but I would be lying.  However, I do think he has fun at the Flea Markets by intentionally picking out the most hidious trinkets and demanding that we have to take it home, and honestly I find myself asking..."Doesn't he deserve the trinket for coming along?"  I usually like to go to the Flea Market with my eyes pealed for something, and this weekend it will be dots.  I see these sweet little circles popping up everywhere, and for some reason they always make me smile.  For your viewing pleasure....
{What is better than Dots & Furr?}

s. is for black bean salad...

If life gives you limes, make margaritas. --Jimmy Buffett

Talking about food might be one of our favorite things, well, talking about it comes in right after eating it of course... We were thinking how funny it is that we will be sitting there enjoying one delicious meal and already talking about what we are having for the next one! {c'mon, don't try and pretend you don't do that too because you KNOW you do!} We are so thankful that a few pretty days have been shining through after this dreadful winter, which has put us in the mood for some lighter meals. Black bean salad anyone? We think so.... Please feel free to indulge in some gold margaritas with salted rim while noshing on this healthy, awesome dish.

Black Bean Salad Ingredients
1 can black beans, thoroughly rinsed
1 can corn, rinsed
1 c fresh tomatoes, diced
1/2 c red onion, chopped
2 c fresh lettuce, chopped {whatever kind you prefer!}
1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c black olives
1/4 c cilantro
1/2 c tortilla chips, crushed
1 avocado, sliced
1/2 fresh lime
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp sour cream
salt and pepper to taste

|1.| Gather two large bowls to assemble the salads in.
|2.| Distribute lettuce evenly between two bowls. Top {each} with black beans, corn, tomato, onion, cheese, olives, cilantro, avocado, tortilla chips and sour cream. You should now have some towering, colorful salads.
|3.| Squeeze fresh lime over the top of each salad and drizzle with good olive oil. Salt and pepper each salad to taste. If you are feeling sassy, pour some salsa or hot sauce over the salad. Serve with frothy gold margarita and enjoy!

Most importantly...
Enjoy your Wednesday! Bon apetite! *vT
