Why did I buy this?
B shared that this was definitely a purchase she loved, but found herself thinking what the heck did I buy this for and where am I going to wear it? We decided the best first place was a parking lot. What do you think? I love, love this Vintage one piece, and I can't wait to snatch her from B to take her out for a spin on my own. Happy Monday...vT*

Friday? Really..??
Daisy Duke: [after being whistled at by numerous people in jail] I don't see what all the fuss is.
Luke Duke: It's probably because you're missing 99% of your pants.
Ok, so for starters, just call me b. "space cadette" duncan, because I had NO idea I didn't write the blog for a day. I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday... and to my surprise, it was Friday! No complaints here, but I don't want readers to think we have forgotten about you! Anywho.. now that I am back on track, I have decided that I am going to make myself a pair of cut-off denim shorts. I am going to hit up all the second hand shops this weekend and find an old pair of Levi denim jeans that I can take some scissors to. Daisy Duke made these hot little numbers famous, and we here at vT are looking to make them infamous :) Pictures to follow. If I don't like how they look on me, I will give them to j.reasons because she looks adorable in them. Here are a few pictures that I found for inspiration. {I will be writing Saturday with some home decor tips since I got everything off this week!} Have a good weekend!

crab cakes anyone?...
The only kind of seafood I trust is the fish stick, a totally featureless fish that doesn't have eyeballs or fins. -- Dave Barry
Being that we are landlocked here in Tennessee, it is hard to find good crab cakes in these parts... but after indulging on some of these delicious treats the other evening, I began to think that I could make my own....After doing a little research, I have composed a recipe of my own and I cannot wait to try it this weekend! I have decided that I am going to serve them over a bed of fresh arugula, with lemon juice and maybe some white wine for sipping :)
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
6 green onions, chopped
3/8 c olive oil
16 oz of fresh crab meat
1 egg
1 tbsp mayo
8 ritz crackers
1 tsp garlic power
1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1 c Panko bread crumbs
salt/pepper
|1.| Heat 2 tbsp olive oil until hot, saute green onions until tender.
|2.| Combine crab meat, egg, mayo, onions, crushed crackers, garlic power, Old Bay seasoning, salt and pepper. Mix throughly! Don't be scared to get your hands dirty :)
|3.| Form into 1/2 in thick patties and coat patties with panko bread crumbs.
|4.| Heat 1/2 c olive oil in skillet on medium heat. Cook the crab cakes until golden brown on both sides.
|5.| Set them on a paper towel to drain and cool off.
|6.| Serve over fresh bed of arugula with lemon wedges... and don't forget the vino! Enjoy!

{Indian Giver}
Finally got a chance to snap some pics of the oh-so-fabulous B. Duncan. I used to be a terrible Indian Giver when I was little, and I honestly thought I had outgrown that habit. Wrong...friends I would like to introduce your to J. "Indian Giver" Reasons. This wild jungle dress once called my closet home, but even though I loved the print, I did not do her justice. So I gave her to B to give a try, and now I want want her back, so you better watch your back Duncan. But, I can honestly say the jungle frock looks pretty happy...
P.S...B...hates this one, but I think her strut is too cute not to share....J

flea market fabulous...
FLEA MARKET OR BUST! b.duncan here to share all my fabulous finds from last weekend's flea market. I had the best time {even though the weather was less than perfect..} My past two trips were not exactly successful, but this last one seriously made up for everything. Best find of the day {pictures to come} 2 dressers that I have been hunting for with a good friend. I thought the search would never end, but she was pleased with the final outcome and the price. God love the flea market and the vendors that put up with all the "treasure hunting" shoppers. Nashville has a fab flea market if any of you readers ever visit the area. Bring cash and do a little bartering and I can assure it will not disappoint. Happy weekend!! <3 *vT
